I wrote an email to a friend of mine about the first night in bali, so i sort of converted that into an update. I'm sitting on the balcony of my hotelroom (6$ pppn) enjoying the morningwarmth/
humidity of denpasar, bali. I slept brilliant last night in a kingsized bed i share with dave. Michiel arrived surprisingly early yesterday evening. He had found us without any problems. I feel
fantastic. I remember the smell of indonesia from a few years ago. That layer of sweat all over your body that follows you anywhere. The people that run the hotel are very nice. They even serve meals
every time of the day, from which we'll definitely make use this morning. Yesterday evening, dave and me scouted the close surroundings from our hotel and found a lovely market for the locals. They
mostly sold flowers and fruit. I have to say that we attracted some attention with our western looks, but only in a curious way, not a bad one. On our way back we found a tiny restaurant, maybe it
wasn't even a restaurant, that small. Three tables filled a room without a wall on the streetside and the owners didn't speak a word of english. By pointing at a picture of a meal we thought we'd
like, we made clear what they could make us. The description said 'mie ayam komplet spesial' which means something like 'special chicken noodles compleet' if i remember correctly. The other time i
was in indonesia i learned some local words, most of them concerning food of course:p. The food tasted delicious! They even gave us some sort of dumplings in a simple soup, and the chicken noodles
had mushrooms and more stuff in it i can't even describe. It costed us together 300.000 rupiah in the end, which equals approximately 4$ if i'm correct. No money.. Anyway, dave and michiel are still
in bed at the moment and i'm chilling on the balcony here. We're gonna walk a lot today i'd say, and check out as much of denpasar today as we can. Tomorrow we'll probably go to kuta to surf, chill
and go out. Stay there a few days and then dave and me go up north west to dive and snorkel in pulau menjangan. Michiel will be going to ubud by then, as he has only one week time to spend in bali.
For now, take care and we'll stay in contact, buddy:D. PS, an amazing smell of food just found its way to my nose. I'm so looking forward to the breakfast here! Take care everyone, and i,ll speak to
you soon;)
